First Annual Bunny Tourney Updates... March 12, 2007 marked the official kick off to Gold Country Water Polo's first annual Bunny Tournament. With fire and effort, the 2007 spring tournament kicked off in grand fashion. Following is the first night's break down. Now on to the point breakdown for last night... Team Peeps--rep. EJ "Hey look my team showed up" -Absolutely stunning production from this darkhorse team. Opened the tourney with some good victories. Pulled in some key feral points as well. Plus, there was a ZK sighting with a checkbook. It is believed the sight of this stunned other captains Ryan and Tom so much that they could not prepare and let the Peeps do thier marshmallow terror on the field. Job well done. Total victories--3 Feral Rabbits--3 Points 7.5 Team Beyonce--rep. Ryan "Jay Schmay, he's off in Vail getting his nails done" -Beyonce proves that good sub rotation and ball movement is "Irreplaceable". Solid effort by this team on all counts, with a great turnout and tied for the most feral rabbits showing up. Struggled a bit to start but recovered well to take the early lead after the first tourney night Total victories--3 Feral Rabbits--5(!) Points-- 8.5 Team Circle of Life--rep.Tom "Comment unable to decipher due to being drowned all night" --Where to begin? Where to end? The circles jumped out to a 2-0 lead against the Peeps in the opening game...only to give up 3 goals in 45 seconds and kill any momentum potentially gained. While there were many feral rabbits there was also several driftwood sightings in the pool when this team was in action. The epic return of Keith Taggatz helped, but not enough. It is rumored that perhaps the team captain and two other unnamed team members should spend less time talking about Sanjaya on American Idol, and more time game planning, it could help. Total victories--zero Feral Rabbits--5 Points 2.5 Good job everyone, prepare for Thursday game play, and the side event... Easter Basket madness!!!!
